Tips When Taking Pictures To Sell Used Clothes and Accessories
Okay, I'll admit. When I first sold my first item on here, the buyer said it looked different in the picture. The color was off. So much for my photography skills. Luckily, she still bought the item! So I thought I would share some tips I have found, some by trial and error!
1) Use Natural Light
When taking pictures, it is important to get your photos to look at close as the item in real life. Natural light is the easiest way to do this.
2) A Plain Background
Having a no clutter zone behind your item helps it stand out. Using a contrast shade will also help bring out your item, but remember you want to draw attention to your item not the background. So fluorescent pink maybe isn't the greatest idea.
3) Be The Model
You don't have to do the catwalk. But having a picture of how the item fits on a real body is a great selling feature.
4) Wrinkle free
Okay, let's admit who uses a iron? I work in health care, and still have to meet someone who irons their scubs before heading out the door. Just throw it in the dryer for a few minutes and bingo.
5) Camera's Eye View
When we purchase an item we are interested in the whole item. So make sure you get the whole item in the picture. Other angles, like the back or tags are super helpful too.
